Hope Whatcott Pritchett Obituary

Hope Whatcott Pritchett
1925 – 2014
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister left this mortal life on July 12, 2014, with loved ones at her side. Hope was born on October 11, 1925 in Kanosh, Utah, the second child of Clarence and Thressa Whatcott. She was blessed to be born into a loving home with strong family ties.
She met her future husband in the Richfield, Utah area and were later married. Due to Dad being in the military, she moved around the country to many places and enjoyed the associations she made during this time. She worked many positions during her life and retired from the U.S. Postal Service, after 29 years of service in the Layton Utah Post Office. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and cherished her membership. She had a strong testimony of her Heavenly Father and her Savior and did all she could to further His work, including aiding in the sending of each of her grandsons and a granddaughter on Church Missions. She was very proud of all her children and grandchildren, and considered her family her most cherished possession. Her faith and testimony remained strong throughout her life, a beacon for her family and those who knew and loved her.
Hope was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and father, her sister and 2 brothers. Hope is survived by her children: Sterling (Linda), Pam Wily (Bob), Paula Hinckley (Greg), 12 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 17, 2014 11:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove 12th Ward, 828 S. Locust Avenue, Pleasant Grove, Utah. A viewing will be that morning from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.walkersanderson.com
The family would like to sincerely thank all of the staff at Summerfield Retirement Manor in Orem, Utah for their loving care of our Mother. Also, we would like to thank Mom's sweet angelic Hospice Nurse, Korin, for her loving care during the last year. A special thank you to Walker Sanderson Funeral Home for their exceptional handling of the funeral details.
Abraham Lincoln has been quotes as saying," Live a Good Life, and in the end, it's not the years in a life, but the life in the years." Mom's life was a great example of this quote. We love you Mom and will miss you greatly.
